It’s time to share my Fall Stitch Fix Haul! Below is a quick rundown of what I received in my most recent box. As we have mentioned in previous posts, Stitch Fix allows you to write a note to your stylist for each fix. These notes are extremely important in getting a successful fix. Unless you are very easy to please you should never leave them blank.
For the stitch below I wrote: “Jennifer Aniston Street Style. Casual Fall Clothing for layering, Spending most of my time at home these days so nothing too fancy.” Note: Stylist can be restricted by what is in-stock in your size.

Everything in my Fall Stitch Fix Haul
JOLIE Reid 3/4 Sleeve Knit Top $38.00 – I’m not loving the color for my skin tone but I do love the fit of this top. The material is soft and I like how the fit is different from your standard 3/4 sleeve top.
MIX BY 41 HAWTHORN Arnold Three Quarter Sleeve Raglan Knit Top $38.00 – Unfortunately, I’ve already purchased this top but in the reverse colors. As you can see from the photo it is also a bit see-thru. This one I’ll have to send back.
TOMS Travel Lite Low Canvas Lace Up Sneaker $69.95 – These shoes are super comfortable and actually have an OrthoLite® Eco X40 insole (high-rebound, long-term cushioning made with plant derived and recycled materials) for extra support.
PINK CLOVER Nickole Textured Pullover $44.00 – So soft and a perfect fit, my favorite item from this Fix.
JUDY BLUE Jerri Boyfriend Distressed Jean $58.00 – I didn’t think I needed boyfriend jeans but now I do!

For the first two weeks of 1st grade my daughter would come home with her shoelaces tied in what seemed like hundreds of tiny knots. She is still learning how to tie her shoes so in her rush during the school day she resorts to just tying knots. This method does not successfully keep the laces off the ground – so it isn’t safe.
I did an investigative search on Amazon and found these gems. No Tie Shoelaces from Homar. They are very reasonably priced and they work!! It takes a bit of time to get them through the lace holes but once installed they make getting shoes on soooo much easier.
Hint: Be sure to cross the middle two laces and thread them through the loop on the tongue. This will keep the tongue from sliding down when your child puts their feet into the shoe.
These no ties shoelaces come in a wide array of colors, even rainbow. They have them for kids and adults. I have even used them on a pair of sneakers to make them slip-ons! Check them out using our affiliate link here: https://amzn.to/2LEgUDf
Run, don’t walk, to Target! Or just order online while relaxing in your pj’s like I do. Now through August 10th, Target is offering Buy 1 Get 1 50% off Kids Shoes. This sale arrived just in time for my back-to-school shopping. I can get each of my girls a new pair of gym shoes (or sneakers as Nanette would say in Maine) and these adorable flippy-sequin high top sneakers that BOTH of my daughters have been dying for!
This year for Mother’s Day all I wanted to do was go hiking with my family. I love to hike but, as per usual for this spring, the weather was cold and drizzly on Mother’s Day. It just didn’t work out, so a few weeks later when we finally had a bit of sunshine we went for a hike along Lake Michigan. My girls loved every minute at the beach, hunting for fossils and running in the sand. I loved the time together as a family, outside in the fresh air.
Because it was a little cool I ended up wearing my all-time favorite pants. They are joggers from Columbia, the specific style they don’t sell anymore but I found a similar pair here: dicks-sporting-goods.ryvx.net/yxXXG. They are UPF 50+ so you will be protected from the sun and a nylon material for great movement and durability.
The top is also from Columbia and you can buy it at Dick’s Sporting Goods. It is a soft material that has lasted nicely through multiple washings. Find the top here: dicks-sporting-goods.ryvx.net/MYM7n
The shoes are a vented, waterproof shoe I bought last summer for a trip to the Smoky Mountains. We went rafting and hiking through some mountain trails with waterfalls so I wanted a shoe that could get wet and that I didn’t need to wear socks with. While not a serious hiking shoe, these work really well for shorter distances, beach days and water activities. They were perfect for rafting! They do not have major support of any kind so I do not recommend them for any long distances and they do collect rocks in the bottom holes. But for the short hiking I do around home and Lake Michigan they work like a charm. You can get them here on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2KpXhyG
I love shoes, always have. Shoes can really make or break an outfit, and your feet, all at the same time. So, when I started having issues about two years ago with plantar fasciitis pain, I had to leave my flat flip-flops and super cute-but-unsupportive flats behind. Let me tell you, when I started researching shoes with good arch support or supportive shoe design I found lots of shoes that may have been good for my feet, but were not so good to look at. So, through trial-and-error, and lots of online searches, I came across these shoes that I live in every day.
I am a flip-flop girl. I love them and wear them all through spring, summer, and the first half of fall. The problem is that most flip-flops are just a flat piece of material which provides absolutely no support for your arches. I searched and searched for an affordable brand that met my needs for arch support and didn’t hurt my feet. These Reef brand flip-flops were the winners! As you can see in the picture below, they have a raised arch area for support and I wore them for a 1.5 mile walk with my dog right out of the package with no issues between my toes or where the straps are located. I will say, they are pretty form fitting to my feet which I believe to be standard to even a bit narrow in size, so if you have wider feet this style may not be for you.
These are some of my favorite shoes ever! They were my first “supportive shoe” purchase and I wear them everywhere, even during the winter when the snow is not too high. What I love about them is that they are high-quality leather so they have lasted in good condition going on two years now. They could use some cleaning, but other than that they look great. I also love that the insole is removable. They don’t have quiet enough arch support for me alone, so I removed the insole that came with the shoe and replaced it with my own insole with much higher arch support. If you look at the picture below, you’ll see my blue inserts, you can find the ones I bought here. These shoes are versatile, I wear them with almost everything and get compliments on them all the time!
Now, running shoes are a very personal purchase. We all have differences in how we run, how our foot strikes the ground and slight differences in the anatomy of our feet. What I can say is I have always worn Asics for running and these Gel-Cumulus 20 shoes are well-suited to my feet. They have a wider toe-box which I prefer, I hate when my toes feel tight. They are a bit more structured and have just the right amount of arch support for my specific needs. If you are unsure of what you need, I would definitely recommend going to a running store and getting a professional to help you choose a shoe for you. I am almost exclusively a treadmill runner and these Asics have held up well for me.
Ok, so I wouldn’t consider these to be shoes, but I wear them exclusively around my house every day. And I mean it, I rarely go barefoot anymore. These Vionic slippers offer me daily arch support which, along with my other shoe choices, has helped my heel pain almost disappear. They have an adjustable velcro strap on the side which I needed because I consider my feet to be average to narrow and do adjust these to almost their tightest fit. They keep my toes warm all winter, spring and fall and the only time I don’t wear these slippers is on very hot days in the summer. They have a hard sole so you could wear them outside if needed. While not the cutest on this list, they do what I need them to do which is all that really matters for me.
Springtime – the flowers are just starting to bloom, the sun is shining, and Communion season is upon us. This year my daughter will be celebrating her own communion and so a few months ago we began our hunt for the perfect outfit. However, finding a communion dress for her proved to be difficult in Maine. We drove an hour and a half to the Maine Mall (we have one mall, can you believe it?) but had no luck! Ultimately, we turned to Amazon and were pleasantly surprised.
Dress: We wanted something simpler and this white chiffon dress was perfect. The flowy sleeves and pleated front add just the right amount of detail and the tie in the back insures a snug fit. Find it here on amazon: https://amzn.to/2WHUtjg
Shoes: I’m a big fan of the SmartFit shoes from Payless. This Girls’ Cici Flower Heel fits well and has a secure strap. We found these shoes on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/2HU4MgP
Veil: A veil was the first think my daughter wanted, she would have worn a paper bag as long as she had a veil. While this option was a bit pricier than others, it has a floral wreath that compliments her shoes. https://amzn.to/2I7M7gP
Gloves: The final touch! How often do have the chance to fancy wear gloves? I couldn’t pass on this request and I found these. https://amzn.to/2ZVwH9H
