    Stitch Fix Unboxing with Pictures

It’s time for another Stitch Fix unboxing with pictures! Below is a quick breakdown of what I received in my most recent box. Stitch Fix allows you to write a note to your stylist for each fix, these notes are extremely important in getting a successful fix. Unless you are very easy to please you shouldn’t leave them blank.

For the Stitch Fix below I requested warm comfortable clothing that I could wear around the house. I’m not currently looking to expand my wardrobe but my Style Pass was still active so I tried another box. Style Pass membership costs $49 and gives you a year of boxes without the $20 styling fee. In addition, $49 is added as credit to your account that will be applied to your next purchase(s). If you purchase one $49+ item a year, it is worth it!

    December Stitch Fix Review

    Winter Stitch Fix Unboxing

    FORTUNE + IVY
Havana Cowl Neck Curved Hem Knit $38.00
    – This top is super soft and the fabric has a nice little stretch and I particularly like the ribbing on the arms. The color, however, doesn’t do much for me and the top was tight under the armpits so I did return this item.

    STS BLUET
    ayah Skinny Jean $49.00
    – Apparently skinny jeans are out now?! These are not full length jeans, they fall right above my ankle but the fit was nice and the material soft. I can see how they would become a staple in anyone’s wardrobe. My closet, however, already has enough black jeans and pants so I passed on these.

    MARKET & SPRUCE
    Emory Toggle Fleece Jacket $88.00
    – When I first opened my fix I wasn’t a big fan of this jacket. After trying it on I fell in love! The material is very similar to a thick sweatshirt but all the details make it much more interesting. Which allows me to look a bit more put together while still being comfortable. So, this was a keeper!

Stitch Fix Unboxing with Pictures - Market & Spruce Emory Toggle Fleece Jacket

    Athleisure Wear

    GLYDER
Eclipse High Waist Performance Legging $78.00
    – Another day, another pair of leggings. The material on these feel like butter but is strong enough to give a nice smooth fit. My current favorite black leggings have pockets on the side that fit my phone perfectly and I don’t think I’ll ever go back. (IUGA Yoga Pants) As much as I liked the fit on these, I have to send them back.

    THRIVE SOCIETE
    Snap Detail Sweatshirt $54.00
    – The last item in my fix is this baby blue sweatshirt with super cute snap details on the shoulders. In person, this top doesn’t look great with my wide shoulders. While the snap detail is adorable, it also makes me look like a linebacker. So, I did return this item.

    Stitch Fix Style Card

Stitch Fix includes a style card with every fix. Included is a note from your stylist and suggested styling for each item. The card is perforated so you can pop out each style card for easy storage, maybe use an old recipe box.

    Stitch Fix Style Card

    Stitch Fix Receipt

You also receive a receipt in every fix which gives you a breakdown of each item and your “buy all” 25% discount. Your account will NO be charge until you go through check-out on the website or app. If you have a styling fee you will see $20 deducted from your total.

Below is a quick rundown of what I received in my most recent box. Stitch Fix allows you to write a note to your stylist for each fix, these notes are extremely important in getting a successful fix. Unless you are very easy to please you shouldn’t leave them blank.

Great advice but the holiday season got the best of me and I forgot to include a note! This seemed to work out okay last time but unfortunately it didn’t this time around. Take a look below for what I received and what I thought of each item.

    Stitch Fix Review

    NINE BRITTON
Billie Tie Front Brushed Knit Top $38.00
~ While the color of this top makes it versatile I thought the material was a bit too thin. The side tie was cute but not enough for me to drop $38. This item I returned.

    STITCHES & STRIPES
Robbie Cable Front Turtleneck Pullover $74.00
~ While I liked the look of this pullover sweater it was a bit too itchy especially around the neckline. It was a bummer but I had to return this item as well.

    MARKET & SPRUCE
    Larsin Packable Vest $68.00
~ My favorite piece in my December Stitch Fix was this cute packable vest. It is really cold here in Maine and when I’m chilly around the house I can throw on a light vest. I decided to keep this item.

    TOMS
Novelty Alpargata Leather Wrap Flat $64.95
~ I am NOT a fan of the plaid pattern on these Toms so I knew I would return them immediately. I did try them on and they were incredibly comfortable and fit like a glove. I’ll have to look at purchases the same shoe but in a different pattern.

    PISTOLA
Arianna Skinny Corduroy Button Front Jean $88.00
~ I think I had a pair of these in the 90’s but I’m not ready to return to the style just yet. Also, the fit was a bit tighter because of the corduroy so I ended up returning these as well.

  • Summer Stitch Fix Haul

    Summer Stitch Fix Haul

I’m so excited to share my Summer Stitch Fix Haul! Below is a quick run down of what I received in my most recent box. As we have mentioned in previous posts, Stitch Fix allows you to write a note to your stylist for each fix. These notes are extremely important in getting a successful fix. Unless you are very easy to please you should never leave them blank. For the stitch below I wrote: “I’m looking for some new summer clothes. Think Jennifer Aniston Street Style. Maybe a casual maxi dress. Spending most of my time at home these days so nothing too fancy.” Keep reading to see what I kept and what I sent back.

Note: Stylist can be restricted by what is in-stock in your size.

    WISP
    Comet Knit Maxi Dress
    – I loved the way this dress fits but I wasn’t a huge fan of the pattern. What do you think?

    VIOLETS & ROSES
    Tala Scallop Detailed Pocket Short
    – This was my least favorite item in my summer Stitch Fix haul. It’s hard to tell from this photo but these shorts made me feel super old and they didn’t fit well on my hips.

    DANIEL RAINN
    Quin Keyhole Crochet Top
    – They keep sending me these tops that are SUPER see thru, it is hard to tell from the picture above but my nude bra is showing through the thin white material. Love the design but it isn’t practical for every day wear as a mom.

    VIOLET & RED
    Evita Perforated Wedge
    – These were super cute and very comfortable but I have a similar pair.

    STS BLUE
    Neve Skinny Jean
    – By far my favorite item! If you are looking for a nice pair of jeans Stitch Fix can hook you up. All of the jeans that I wear are from previous fixes.

  • November Stitch Fix Try-On

    November Stitch Fix Try-On

Well, the holiday season officially got the best of me! I am just now getting to post my November Stitch Fix Try-On. Sorry for the delay! This time, I gave my stylist very specific items I was looking for: comfortable jeans, a casual blazer, high-top slip on sneakers, comfy tops that are not itchy. I also asked for the prices to be on the low end.

Overall, I thought my stylist got my personal style dead on here, but I ended up only keeping one item from this fix. See my notes below.

    Stitch Fix Haul

November Stitch Fix Try-On, Estefany Lace Detail Split Neck Blouse by Daniel Rainn

Estefany Lace Detail Split Neck Blouse by Daniel Rainn
I loved the pattern and comfort of this top, but it was simply too see-through for me. I couldn’t wear it without something on top which makes it really limiting. Not to mention, the price didn’t match the quality. Sent back.

November Stitch Fix Try-On, Raja Collarless Blazer by Skies are Blue

Raja Collarless Blazer by Skies Are Blue – This blazer is a medium turquoise-blue color which I liked. It looked great with the plum and white colored items that came with the rest of this fix. The material is smooth and the sleeves are 3/4 length and ruched a little in the mid-arm area. It was a little pricey, but I thought versatile enough to spend on. This is the only item I kept from this fix.

November Stitch Fix Try-On, Three Quarter Sleeve Raglan Knit Top by Mix by 41 Hawthorn

Arnold Three Quarter Sleeve Raglan Knit Top by Mix by 41 Hawthorn – This shirt was cute and comfortable. It is a nice staple to wear through the season and went well with the blazer and shoes in this fix, but it was slightly short for me and I was concerned the fabric would pill easily. Sent back.

November Stitch Fix Try-On, Madewell High Rise Skinny Jeans

10″ High Rise Skinny Jean by Madewell – The jeans included in this fix were a very high rise. I hadn’t really worn high rise jeans in the past and I did not like them. I just did not feel comfortable in them at all and they were also the most expensive item in this fix by far. For $135 I have to LOVE an item of clothing that I know could get any number of stains on them from my children. I sent these back.

    Keds Booties in Burgundy

Scout Splash Weather Resistant Bootie by Keds – These shoes were a cute plum/burgundy color and fit, but they were very thin feeling, didn’t have much support and I felt were not flattering on my feet (they made my feet look super long). I also don’t love having to lace shoes so high, I like to be able to slip my shoes on and go, which is not an option for this style.

    Final Thoughts

Overall, I kept one item, the blazer, because I liked it enough to not throw away the styling fee. I was happy with the styles, but not with the prices or the way the items just didn’t work out for various reasons. What I did like is that Stitch Fix noticed my negative reviews of the items and offered a replacement fix free of the styling fee for the next week. It was a nice gesture. I will post that fix later.

I Bought Everything in my Fall Clothing Stitch Fix Box!

I’m so excited to share my Fall Stitch Fix Box! I was looking for some cozy clothing for the Fall that would easily match my current wardrobe and my new stylist hit the nail on the head with this one.

As we have mentioned before, Stitch Fix allows you to write a note to your stylist for each fix. These notes are extremely important in getting a successful fix. Unless you are very easy to please you should never leave them blank. For the stitch below, I asked for comfortable fall clothing, including joggers, that have a Jennifer Aniston Street Style feel. Basic colors only. I also mentioned needing a new pair of shoes – preferably booties. Check out what I received, and loved, below!

Note: Stylist can be restricted by what is in-stock in your size. I’ve asked for new booties before but they haven’t had something that would work until this most recent fix.

Another Stitch Fix Review and $50 Coupon Code

Another day another FIX!  As I’ve mentioned before Stitch Fix does an amazing job of finding JEANS that actually fit. So, I asked them to send me more!! I also requested they send basic versatile classic pieces. Check out what they sent me – spoiler alert, I kept them all.

Hint: It is really important to be very specific in your notes. The fix I received before this one (forgot to take pics) was awful! I asked for summer tanks and received 4 floral tops, yes they were all floral.

I asked for jean short but ended up liking these. Not something I would normally wear but I think they look nice.

  • Carolyn’s First Stitch Fix

    Carolyn’s First Stitch Fix

Nanette has been a fan of Stitch Fix for a while now and she finally persuaded me to give it a try. I have almost no time to shop anymore and thought this might be a great way to find new pieces, brands and styles. After getting my first box, I don’t know why I was hesitant at first. Overall, I didn’t love everything in this box, but am still willing to go through a few more fixes to get items that work for me. Mainly because feel like it takes more than one questionnaire to really get to know my style and body. Each time I send back items it gives my stylist more insight into styles and sizes that did or didn’t work.

I want to second Nanette’s point from her Stitch Fix post earlier this month that you really need to be as specific as possible about what you are looking for and what you don’t like. Make sure to give as many details as you can to get a more personalized experience. Below I have pictures of what I received along with notes on what I told the stylist I wanted, didn’t want, or forgot to mention. I hope this helps you make your decision on giving Stitch Fix a try. If you use this link, you can get $25 off your first fix!

Anchorage Striped Canvas Tote – Overall I liked this tote, but not enough to keep it. It was a little more than I wanted to spend especially considering I didn’t LOVE it. I didn’t give any notes on bags or accessories. Sent back.

Dayna Skinny Jean – These are Toothpick Skinny Jeans from Kut from the Kloth. I specifically asked for jeans in this box, and more specifically, jeans that would not gap at the waist as I have larger legs. I have been searching and searching for jeans that fit well and unfortunately these just didn’t. I actually really wanted these jeans to work, the fabric had a nice stretch to it and was soft. They felt like good quality jeans that would hold up over time, but they were just too tight in the legs which is a problem I have all the time. You can see them in the picture below and I am wearing them in every picture in this post as well. Sent back.

Mirah Off-The-Shoulder Embroidered Cotton Blend Knit Top – I did not like this top. It was short and boxy, not at all flattering on me. I don’t love the off-the-should aspect as I have small children who still pull at my clothes from time to time making it impractical for me. Also, the top was a bit see-through and didn’t stay on the sides of my arms. While I was trying it on, it rode up twice over my shoulders just while I was taking the picture. Sent back.

Romey Cold Shoulder Knit Top – While comfortable with fabric that was both smooth and light, I thought this top was just ok. I didn’t think it was super-flattering on my shoulder area and I didn’t love the yellow stripes. Overall it was an ok top, but not one I was willing to spend money on. Sent back.

Caley Open Kimono – This is the only item from my box that I kept. In the picture I am wearing it with a tank I already had on. This kimono is light, soft and airy. It is perfect to layer over tank tops in the summer. I loved the length in the back and the way it felt. I really liked this item. Kept.

In summary, I only kept one item but I still enjoyed the process of getting to try on clothes that I might not have chosen for myself, like this kimono. I would have kept the jeans if they fit. I am looking forward to trying it again, this time with items that might be slightly more my style. I did leave some updated notes after this fix to get more specific items in my next shipment. Head on over to StitchFix if you’d like to give it a try, remember this link gives you $25 off your first fix!

Below is a shot of my first Stitch Fix – the one that got me hooked. 🙂 As other bloggers have mentioned, they do an amazing job of finding JEANS that actually fit. I’ve been searching for a good pair of jeans for years but nothing has looked right… Stitch Fix sent me the perfect pair in my first box!! Crazy!

I’m wearing Articles of Society – Tiana Skinny Jeans, Eden Society – Laysha’s Cargo Jacket, Pink Clover – Longoria Shirt and an Octavia Amare Scarf

Check out some of the other items I’ve purchased since starting Stitch Fix. As you can see I opt mostly for jeans and neutral tops. Tip: It is VERY important to be specific in the stylist notes and mention anything you are hoping to receive. In my last fix I specifically asked for jean shorts, boyfriend jeans and yoga pants – and they delivered. It amazes me how well everything fits – I don’t know how they do it. Magic?
